| | Off to AUSTIN TEXAS | | | | 
So this Sunday, I leave for Austin Texas. I got a great opportunity from work to attend the Austin GDC! What exactly is GDC? Well for one it stands for Game Developers  Conference. There are about 4 or 5 of them around the world that happen every year.
I went to one a year ago in San Francisco, but this year I requested to go to the one in Austin for a couple reasons. 1. I have never been to Austin, and 2. The Austin conference is more aimed towards MMO or massively multiplayer online games, which is similar to the game I'm making now at Sony. Most of the studios in Austin like Sony Online Entertainment and NC Soft, among others specialize in online games which is why the conference also specializes in online games.
This should be fun! I'll be bloggin about the entire trip on my website at www.derekwarner.net along with posting up pictures while I'm there. Hopefully the hurricane thats hitting Texas right now doesn't mess up Austin too much, but I'm pretty sure its going to rain :)

 Hi everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone who helped out and attended my bridal shower in Spokane. I had such a wonderful time, and everything went off without a hitch. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
I just started a new job. I work for the company Lifetouch Preschool Portraits, as a Lead Photographer for Washington State.
It is a great opportunity for me and I am able put my photography skills and knowledge and management skills to work. I manage a team of six photographers in the state of Washington, who take pictures of preschoolers. It is a lot of fun work.

As most of you know I work in the video game industry. I get asked a lot about what games I have worked on and how long I have been doing this, so you can tell your kids who probably play more games than you do :)
